Announcement from Leeds Music Forum
Live At Leeds The Unconference Launch Party Presents AIM Social featuring Access To Music Funding Panel
Wednesday 9th April • Brudenell Social Club • 6pm onwards
We are excited to announce that we have teamed up with AIM (Association of Independent Music) to host their regular gathering for the independent music community to run an inaugural launch for the main Unconference – in conjunction with our regular supporters Leeds Metropolitan University and Leeds Inspired.
AIM is the not-for-profit trade body that represents the UK independent music industry, promoting the sector globally, providing advice, training and business support. Their social events are key parts of the indie music calendar in London, and open all in the independent music industry – whether you’re running a label, working in digital music, or managing a self-releasing band or artist.
The evening will specifically feature a panel on music business funding, as well as live performances from some of Leeds’ acclaimed independent acts.
• The evening starts with an Access to Music Funding Panel looking at PRS for Music Foundation’s Momentum Music Fund and British Music Abroad Scheme, Arts Council England funds and other industry focused grants and loans with Chris Bye (Arts Council England), Laura Whitticase (PRS for Music Foundation) and Claire NcNeil (AIM)
• Live At Leeds Football Tournament – draw for the group stage
• Live performances from Post War Glamour Girls and The Horn The Hunt
• DJ set from The Leaf Label’s Tony Morley
Places are free, but highly limited. Register quickly before they’re all gone! For full details and to register for the guestlist – visit http://www.musicindie.com/aimsocialleeds.
