Calan Mai – Black Box

Shivers up my spine from the first reverb-drenched, sweetly plucked chord; evocative and atmospheric, like The Smiths / Bon Iver, it captures a mournful mood with considered lyrics and measured delivery. Songwriting-wise it builds brilliantly (although the production perhaps doesn’t match the ambition).  Superb.
